One tattoo artist is on a mission to help them turn their grief into confidence and hope through beautiful tattoos. Noel Franus founded the organization after his sister-in-law suffered from the disease and asked a tattoo artist to help her afterwards, instead of a plastic surgeon.
They serve as reminders that they are survivors, warriors, and will never give up. Noel is amazed by the transformation that happens after just a few hours with the tattoo artist. They currently work with a small network of 15 pre-screened artists in different cities who are supported through donations. Survivors can book time with the artists to transform their wounds into warrior marks! Amy Jo Pilmer to see what's new within her ever growing menagerie of rescue animals. Outside of Fredericksburg, Texas, there's a 35 acre plot of land that might as well be called Dr.

The glue that holds this menagerie together is the soothing presence of veterinarian Dr. Amy Jo Pilmer. There was a baby deer that was found unresponsive on the side of the road and needed intravenous feeding to pull through.
A Belted Galloway came to her with almost no control of her legs but has healed and grown under her watchful eyes. Numerous sick and ailing shelter dogs have recuperated on her ranch and gone on to find new, loving homes.
Healing seems to come naturally to Dr. Amy Jo and she particularly loves the care and nurturing of baby animals. But she also knows that inevitably those she rehabilitates will grow up and need to move on.

This new kind of therapy animal brings magic to whoever it visits. Gentle Carousel Miniature Therapy Horses is an all volunteer c 3 nonprofit charity. The team of tiny horses visits over 45, adults and children each year inside hospitals, hospice programs, police stations and fire stations.
They also visit with children who have experienced traumatic events. This program has been around for twenty years and started out helping at risk children with behavioral issues. One day there was a special request where the team flew out to New York to visit a woman whose last wish was to have a horse visit her in her hospital room. Life changing moments like this continue to drive this charity's purpose and validate what an unforgettable experience it can be to be comforted by a therapy horse.
Gentle Carousel's award winning literacy program, Reading Is Magic, also brings real horses inside schools, at risk youth programs and libraries to inspire young readers and "bring books to life". These 'tiny' heroes are bringing HUGE love to the world!
Young women living through the hospitalization and treatment of cancer need strength, positivity and a role model they can look up to that projects the hope that is critical to their recovery. MD Anderson Children's Cancer Hospital hosts a prom for their teen patients that are not able to attend school and participate in regular activities.
